in Acrosync for Mac
Hi all,

I'm a long-time Time Machine user switching to Acrosync after my umpteenth disappointment with Time Machine's nonsense.

I was running Time Machine via OS X Server on a Mac Mini to an attached RAID. I would like Acrosync to back up to the same drive.

Acrosync appears to be able to connect to the remote volume.

Remote drive is: /Volumes/Backups
Local drive is: /

When I click Start:

• the status says: "/ uploaded"
• notification in menu bar says: "Remote dir /Volumes/Backup/ up-to-date"
• log says "Uploading / to /Volumes/Backup", then "Uploaded 0 files"


Settings:
Auto-upload
automatically upload new or modified files
create space-efficient snapshots
full backup every hour


What am I doing wrong?

    It looks like there is a bug in scanning the root directory.

    If you're using Acrosync for backup, I would suggest our new cloud backup tool called Duplicacy, since it was specifically designed for backup and has advantages over an rsync-based backup solution.

    Thanks for your reply. I bought Acrosync based on the description on your web site: "It can be also be configured to create hourly incremental network backups similar to Time Machine, but without the need to install server software."

    Based on this description, I expected to be able to use Acrosync the same way I used Time Machine: incremental backups. May I suggest that, if you offer a more appropriate tool for backups, that you include that on the Acrosync web site?

    I hope that there a fix in the works for this root directory scanning bug. Ideally I would like to backup my entire hard drive.

    In the meantime, I've just selected /Users as the root directory, clicked Start, and it appears to be uploading now.

    I released a new version 1.9 that fixed this bug.  You can either redownload the latest build from our website, or just wait until the auto updater kicks in within a day.
