When to use Download, Upload, or Auto Upload?

I am using the drive as a backup device. Every night at 9pm I want to backup all changed files on my live system

I believe "Auto Upload" is the correct setting.
If I delete a file on the synology, it will not automatically delete on the live system, correct?
Sometimes, if a user forgets to log out of QB, the invalid open file is backed up. Does this overwrite the previous valid backup of the properly closed file?

What would be good examples of when to use download and upload?

  • Auto Upload means new or modified files will be uploaded automatically.  I think in your case you probably just need the Upload mode.

This is controlled by the Propagate deletion option.  If this option is enabled, the file on the destination will be deleted once it is deleted from the source.

I think the answer is yes.  Acrosync can't tell whether the file is consistent or not.
