2 conflicting versions running - want to update to 609

Hello.
I'm not sure how this has happened but after upgrading to build 600 i find that an instance of 599 is still running and causing problems. i suspect the second installation was created with a different administrator account which might have confused things.

I'm trying to locate the relevant bits in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acrosync\AcrosyncClient
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acrosync\AcrosyncClient
but can't identify anything that might relate to build numbers

I thought if i installed 609 this might fix the problem ... or i might end up with 3 versions. There does not appear to be any documentation to signpost this.

Some advice would be enormously appreciated.

  • The name of the Acrosync executable doesn't change between versions, so if the installation is successful it will overwrite the old one.  Just need to make sure that Acrosync isn't running during new installation.  That is, if you can see the Acrosync icon in the system tray, right click it and select Quit, otherwise it will remain running in the background.
