Copy/Sync Files and Directory Locally

Is there way to sync a directory on the local hard drive to an external hard drive connected to the same computer? I am looking for a way to use Acrosync similar to rsync for backing up a local directory to a directory on an external hard drive. The corresponding command on Linux / Mac OS X would  for example be "rsync -zvh /user/workspace/ externaldrive/backup/". The Acrosync interface does not allow to select a local directory as destination unless entering a Server with Username and Password. Would I have to set up a local server? Thanks for any tips!

    Sorry this is not supported.  Acrosync was designed from the beginning to transfer files between a local directory and a remote machine.
