directory structure / metadata

New user here - I'm planning to test Acrosync against a non-native (cywin) rsync-based solution for performance reasons.  I've got a question:  is there any special directory structure or metadata stuff that Acrosync is creating, or are the backups "standard" rsync --link-dest style?

For instance, if I wanted to convert an Acrosync-created archive to (or from) an rsnapshot-created archive, would it simply be a matter of renaming the top-level directories to the rsnapshot format ("hourly.0", "hourly.1", etc.)?

  • There is no specific Acrosync metadata in the directories, so I think you can convert them into an rsnapshot archive although I haven't tested it myself.
