Specifying SMTP server port number

Hi -

What's the syntax for specifying the smtp server's target port number?

I've tried the obvious ones: smtp.com:1234, smtp.com 1234

    I think smtp://example.com:1234 should work.

    (but it seems i also have a firewall problem,)
