Version 1.4 is ready for beta testing

edited May 2015 in Acrosync for Windows

Version 1.4 can now be downloaded from the following links:

    32 bit: http://acrosync.com/win32/acrosync_installer_win32_1.4.exe

    64 bit: http://acrosync.com/win32/acrosync_installer_win64_1.4.exe

    XP : http://acrosync.com/win32/acrosync_installer_winxp_1.4.exe

The biggest change of 1.4 is the ability to schedule download jobs.  There are now 3 sync modes: Download, Upload, and Auto Upload.  Auto Upload is just Upload with the file system monitor turned on.  The option to schedule jobs at preset times is now an independent option and can be applicable to any sync mode.

Other changes include:

  • email notification: send an email when sync is completed
  • dry-run: simulate a download/upload without actually making any changes
  • incremental snapshot can now be enabled for download jobs
  • file logging: choose a directory to store log files.  Log rotation is performed when the current log file is larger then the registry value 'LogFileSize' (under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acrosync\AcrosyncClient) which defaults to 10M, and log files other than the registry value 'LogFileExpirationDay' (default is 7) will be automatically removed
  • handle deduplication reparse points as if they were regular file (as opposed to bailing out in previous versions)
  • add an option to schedule next sync time in presence of a connection error.

Please help me test this version and post any issue in this thread.

Comments

  • Hi, does 1.4 support Acrosync running as a service?
  • No, it doesn't.

I don't have a plan to make Acrosync a service, at least for now.  Instead, I will build an rsync server for Windows that can run a service.
