Please help with error message

Testing Acrosync for Mac with intent to purchase in the AppStore. When connecting to remote mac via SSH, it successfully connects to server, finds directory, but then states:

'rsync: failed to set times on "/Volumes...../.": Operation not permitted (1)'

What's going on and how to fix it?

    Remote rsync was trying to change the time on the directory or file but it didn't have the permission to do so.  Make sure the remote directory is writable.
